Jeff Sheldon has been named the interim executive director of the University of Nebraska—Lincoln’s Office of Marketing and Communications. His appointment began on January 6.

Sheldon also currently is the associate executive director of marketing and business relations for the Nebraska Alumni Association, where he leads the NAA’s Marketing and Communications team, oversees revenue-generating external partnerships. He will continue to hold this role in addition to the appointment at UComm.

Sheldon has worked with the NAA since 2019, starting as a senior director of marketing and communications. He serves on the organization’s strategy team, providing leadership guidance to the executive director.

While at the NAA, Sheldon has also served in multiple campus leadership and advocacy roles including the chancellor’s commission on the status of women and as an affiliate member of the staff senate. He also has served as the sponsorship chair of the Council of Alumni Membership and Marketing Professionals, a nationwide professional organization of alumni association marketers. 

Prior to the NAA, Sheldon worked in nonprofit communications and the radio and newspaper industries. He earned his bachelor’s degree in broadcasting from the University of Nebraska—Lincoln in 2004 and a master’s of arts from UNL in 2007. 

He and his wife Emily live in Lincoln and have two young children.
