Message from the Chancellor - Welcome Back Faculty & Staff Fall 2025

August 25, 2025

Colleagues,

I am writing to share the following message for your awareness; this was sent to all students this morning. Thank you for your commitment to ensuring our students’ success and for all that you will do this year to support them and to advance the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in service to our state.

I look forward to continuing our work, together, and I wish you all the best for a productive academic year.

Students,

As we begin the semester with the first day of classes, I am delighted to extend a Big Red Welcome to all of our new and returning Huskers! We are so excited to have you as part of our University community, and I want to thank you for choosing the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Whether you are new to UNL, or returning for another year, I appreciate the unparalleled energy and enthusiasm you bring to our Research I, Big Ten university. Our internationally-recognized faculty are ready to share new concepts and skills, and our exceptional staff are ready to support your growth and development.

You are the reason we are here, and I encourage you to embrace all the resources available to you. If you need help or aren’t sure where to start, reach out to the following key areas:

I also challenge you to really embrace what it means to be an engaged part of a community of scholars at a major research university. We believe every person and every interaction matters, and that philosophy extends to each of you. In addition to taking care of yourselves, look out for your fellow students. Help each other as you all work to achieve your goals, both individually and collectively, and check in with each other as you all adjust to a new environment.

There is no limit to what you can accomplish with hard work and dedication, and we are here to help you make the most of your Husker experience.

Again, thank you for choosing the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I am so happy you are here, and I wish you all the best for a successful academic year.

Go Big Red!
