Dear UNL Community:
As you may know, UNL’s budget reduction plan was approved by the Board of Regents earlier today. I want to again thank each individual, group, and unit that engaged in providing feedback throughout this process. These reductions will have broad impact across many areas of the institution, and the full implementation process will take time as we move forward with empathy and sensitivity for affected students and individual employees.
The Executive Leadership Team and I remain committed to facilitating clear pathways to timely degree completion for students and to providing as much support as possible for employees. Additional details will soon be distributed to students whose programs will be modified. Information regarding timelines and transition steps will be provided to affected employees in the coming weeks.
I strongly believe that even though these decisions are very difficult, they are in the best interest of UNL’s long-term future as we work to continue delivering excellence in student success, research, and service to communities throughout our state.
